Erika Gonzalez-Reyes, MD

Dr. Erika Gonzalez-Reyes is an Asthma, Allergy, & Immunology Specialist based out of San Antonio, Texas. She is an Adjunct Clinical Professor in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and is actively involved as a community leader.
Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors for Centromed, a non-profit community clinic whose mission is to offer affordable, culturally competent and geographically accessible primary care services to medically underserved Latino Communities. She serves as an Advisor to the Dean of Science Engineering & Technology (SET) at her Alma Mater, St. Mary’s University. At the state level, she currently sits on the Board for the Texas Allergy Society, is on the Stock Epinephrine Committee with the Texas Department of State Health Services, and is a Director for the Texas Lyceum. Dr. Gonzalez played a key role in advancing critical legislation to implement the School Access to Emergency Epinephrine Act in Texas that was originally signed into law by President Obama in 2013.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and from there attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston on a full Air Force scholarship where she received her degree in Medicine. She served in the Air Force for nine years and was honorably discharged as a Major, subsequently earning her the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal and later the Air Force Commendation medal.
Dr. Gonzalez-Reyes volunteers her time at free asthma clinics offering free medical care to underserved areas. She serves as the Medical Chair for the annual San Antonio Food Allergy FARE Walk and mentors pre-med students through the St. Mary’s University Mentorship program encouraging underrepresented minorities, and Latinas, pursue careers in Science and Medicine. By mentoring young females, she hopes to not only inspire them with her accomplishments, but to drive them to surpass those achievements.
