With Deadline Approaching, Latino Victory Project Reminds California Latinos to Register to Vote

Washington, D.C. — With the October 20, 2014 deadline to register to vote, Latino Victory Project President Cristóbal Alex today encouraged Latinos across California to register to vote so that their voices are heard on Election Day.

“There are not enough Latinos in office in California, and yet the state has the highest Latino eligible voter population in the country,” Alex said. “We have an opportunity during this election to make sure our voices are heard, and that starts with registering to vote.”

A 2012 Pew report notes that there are 5.9 million Hispanic eligible voters in California—the single largest Hispanic eligible voter population in the United States.

According to the California Elections Division, Californians can register by hand-delivering or mailing a completed Voter Registration Application to the county elections office or by going online. California residents can also pick up a paper Voter Registration Application at a local county elections office, library, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or U.S. post office.
