Washington, D.C.–Today, Latino Victory Fund announced the endorsement of Commissioner Angelo Castillo for mayor of Pembroke Pines, FL. In 2014, Castillo became the first Hispanic elected to the Pembroke Pines City Commission in 30 years. If elected mayor, Castillo will be the first Hispanic elected to the position in the city’s history.

Latino Victory Fund Executive Director Mayra Macías issued the following statement: 

“Latino Victory Fund is proud to endorse Angelo Castillo for mayor of Pembroke Pines. Castillo has dedicated his entire career to public service, working on behalf of hardworking people. As mayor, Angelo will help improve Pembroke Pines’ economy,  protect the environment– all while putting the taxpayers’ interest at heart. Pembroke Pines voters will soon make history when they elect their first Hispanic mayor this March, and Latino Victory will be there every step of the way. ”
