Washington, D.C. — This week, Telemundo Noticias released another damning poll that showed that an overwhelming majority of Latinos prefer a Democrat in the White House over President Trump.

Key Points of Telemundo Noticias’ poll:

  • “64 percent of Hispanic voters would choose to replace Trump with a Democratic president […]”

  • “This rejection is greater among women (66 percent), those under 50 years old (69 percent), and those who live in the Pacific Coast (70 percent).”

  • “Two out of three Latinos feel persecuted or discriminated against in the United States, a percentage that grows among women (70 percent), those under 50 years old (68 percent), those who only speak Spanish in their homes (69 percent), and those who live on the Pacific Coast (71 percent).”

  • “Seventy percent of registered Latino voters believe it does [ Donald Trump’s rhetoric contribute to racism and discrimination], especially women (73 percent), those under 50 years old (74 percent), and those who live on the Pacific Coast (75 percent).”

“From day one, President Donald Trump has constantly made life harder for Latinos. His anti-Latino and anti-immigrant rhetoric has led to horrific racist attacks against Latinos across the country. This is why the overwhelming majority of Latino voters continue rejecting him and the do-nothing Republicans,” said Latino Victory Fund Executive Director Mayra Macías. “With Latinos becoming the largest non-white voting bloc in the 2020 election, rest assured that Latinos will be the reason why we defeat Trump and Republicans next November.”

The poll also revealed that health care, the economy, immigration and climate change are the top issues for Latinos ahead of next year’s election— issues that Republicans and Trump have been abhorrent on. Earlier this year, Latino Victory Fund launched a website “TrumpWinsWeLose.com” took an in-depth look at how Trump’s policies are hurting hard working Latino families.
