Latino Victory Fund Commends Indiana State Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon for Speaking Up in Sexual Harassment Case Against AG Curtis Hill

Washington, D.C. — The Indiana Supreme Court ruled to suspend Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill two years after the allegations that he groped four women went public. The women who came forward worked in the Indiana State Legislature, and included State Rep. Mara Candelaria Reardon, who is a Latino Victory-endorsed candidate running for Indiana’s 1st Congressional District.

Nathalie Rayes, Latino Victory Fund president and CEO, issued the following statement:

“We commend State Rep. Candelaria Reardon for her leadership in standing up alongside fellow legislative staff members and for choosing to do the right thing knowing she would face criticism. Candelaria Reardon’s tenacity in her pursuit of justice is why Latino Victory Fund endorsed her in her race for Indiana’s 1st Congressional District as part of our First Latinas Initiative. We need more fearless leaders like Candelaria Reardon in Congress who will stand up for women and for her community.”

Candelaria Reardon is currently in a 14-person Democratic primary. If she wins the primary, which will be held on June 02, Candelaria Reardon will become the first Latina elected to Congress from the state of Indiana.
