John Loredo first pursued his passion for politics when attending Phoenix College in 1986. He was elected President of M.E.Ch.A. (Movimento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan) in 1989 and later became President-Founding member of the LULAC Young Adult Council.
John Loredo was first elected to the Arizona State House of Representatives in 1996, and won re-election in 1998, 2000 and 2002. He served as Democratic Whip for the 44th Legislative Session and as the Democratic Leader during the 46th Legislative Session. In 2010, Loredo boycotted the passage of SB1070. Since the success of the boycott, no anti-immigration legislation has passed in the Arizona State House. He currently serves as the President of a prominent progressive political consultancy firm located in Phoenix, Arizona.
